    Friendly budgie suddenly scratching/biting

Hello, I have recently managed to have my budgie Mango step on my finger whenever I ask him to. Normally, as long as I don't move, Mango will not try to step off. Recently (today), he is suddenly starting to bite and scratch me with his beak. He will climb all the way up to my knuckles and start to bite and scratch me. He is normally not like this and I have not yelled or kicked their cage in any way.
The only possible reason I can think for this behaviour is his aggression with my other budgie, Momo. I can't tell if they are play-fighting or plain aggressive. Often, they will randomly lunge at each other and when Mango is trying to step on the perch, Momo will just snap and attack him.
Please help, because Mango's bites are really starting to hurt.

It is very possible that he is into hormones now especially since it has happened so suddenly. This behavior can last for awhile. It also could be Mono is a female. It is not unusual for sparring to occur, and attraction could also be a result. And therefore he is being territorial toward you.

I would do the to!!owing when he bites: Say NO NO, firm!y, and immediately return him to the cage. Further, if may be necessary to separte the two if the aggression gets really mean. You need to be on guard for the biting, and return him to cage immediately. There is no guarantee this will help 100%, but at least he will not be allowed to bite you! Budgies are very intelligent and can learn to be somewhat disciplned for inappropriate behavior. Do protect yourself from the biting. I know....it really hurts! Ouch!!!

Thank you for the advice. I have not yet taken Mango out of his cage since I am letting him get used to my hand moving at the moment. I will attempt this method, thank you!

I agree with Ellen and keep up on telling him "no" and put him in his cage. You can even make a big deal of it by sort of whining about his bites. We always tell Tikki no, then proceed to tell him bad bird, that hurts and anything else that pops up on the way to his cage before we put him in. I will warn you bites are always going to happen but we forgive because bites are just a defence that birds have. Tikki can be the sweetest bird ever then he ruins it with a bite. Boomer was just a brat and bit us way too much.
Fly Free Boomer, we will forever love you.

I don't take him out of the cage yet. The type of biting he does only happen when he's on my finger. He would climb really far up my hand and peck at any piece of skin he can find.
How do I get him off my finger without making him too anxious or disturbed?
