I think there is something wrong

I recently noticed that a talon on my budgie (Ganymede) is always sideways every time i've looked at it for the past couple weeks it has been like that.

It might have been broken. They really couldnt do much to help it so as long as your bird dont seem to care about it i would think it would be OK.

It seems to cause ganymede a bit of discomfort because whenever he lands on a perch or gets on my finger he steps on with the other foot and he doesn't walk around very much at all.

Hi, and welcome! Sometimes they jam a toe, or, if the toe nails are longer, they can get the foot and toe caught in a toy, or a piece of cloth. Usually, it will heal, but it does take time, and there really is nothing to do for him except to give it time to heal. Time and patience will hopefully work for you.

When we took our bird to his vet for his checkups they would snip a toenail short and draw the blood from his nail to run tests. Poor Boomers toe would be very sore afterwards and he would keep his foot up and even have issues with sleeping deeply on the first few days after they cut it. I hated it but his vet said it was much safer for the birds to snip there toenails then to get blood out of a vein. If you were to take him to the vets they might be able to give you some pain meds but that might be all they can do for poor Ganymede.
