    Dirty beaks?

Bluey - our 9 year old budgie keeps getting a really dirty, nasty beak - I can peel it off - it looks almost like regurgitated food or something

He's also a bit of a food dunker

He's otherwise pretty healthy - though has had wheezing issues in the past.

This has been going on for weeks, if not months. Any ideas or anyone see this before?

Thanks Lee for the adorable sig!

Hi Helen, wished I could help you but I cant. I know Tikki the conure gets dirty beak when he eats people food because he smashes his beak into the food like a little piggy. He loves his bathes so his beak gets cleaned it least twice a day when he finds bowls of water to bathe in.

Hi Helen, I never had a bird that dunked it's food. It's almost reminds me of my husband dunking an "old fashioned" doughnut in his coffee while we are on vacation. Anyways, I would think he would clean his beak in his water dish, silly bird. Kudo's on the great care. Not very often you hear about a 9 year old budgie. Bluey sure has a great parront.
