Well, I think they all are doing well. If you do have two female budgies, and at least one male, be prepared. It will not be long before you may see some male competition for the females. Then.....it will be mating....and then......eggs......and then babies!! If you see those tan Ceres turn to crusty brown color, that signals the females are in hormonal condition, and ready to breed.
Dale is at least entertaining himself and the others! Maybe one day you can find him a male friend.
One perk about birds is they are always trying something new, and forever entertain us!

And she never came back. Flew off again.
Awww!! I am soooo sorry! Try putting a small empty cage by your front or back door, with seeds, treats, and the door open. Also, if you could somehow play a YouTube video of budgies singing and chirping, she might come into that cage.
Please keep us posted.
She came back the next morning when she heard my other birds. I was genuinely relieved and surprised. I didn't think she'd make it through the night. It was supposed to get into the 40s.

Wow!!! That is amazing!!!! Usually, that is a real challenge for anyone who has had this happen.
You can give yourself lots of credit, for bonding well with all your budgies and taking great care of them, and most of all LOVING them, so much so, they are even coming back from outside, if they get out!
That is just awesome! Please keep the updates coming! So happy you have all of your birdy family with you now!!!!
Aaaand now Wendy has a broken leg... My brother came over and he brought his dog. I told him to put him on the balcony. Instead, he decides to reach up for my birds. Who don't know him. They freaked out and flew around the room.
His dog jumped up and snatched Wendy out of the air. I managed to get him off her bit it was too late. Wendy's left leg got a compound fracture.
I took her to the clinic first thing in the morning, a 200 lbs combat veteran, blubbering my eyes out, and had a little cast put on her. $200. Poor Wendy never has it easy.
I told my brother to stop touching my ****ing birds.
Awww!!! Did the vet say her leg will heal? Perhaps you could make a new house rule, and tell everyone, including family that all dogs and other pets are off limits to your home. And also, put your birds in the cages when anyone comes to visit.
Please keep us posted.
Wendy's cast came off yesterday. She's expected to recover for the most part. Her dexterity might be compromised though.
Awww!! That is great news! Often times they find a way to pick off the cast. Thankfully, that did not happen. Budgies are very hardy birds, and recover well from accidents if they get to the vet in time. And even if he is compromised somewhat, that will not stop her. Special needs birds are very brave and courageous, and no disability will slow them down! We will watch for updates.

Oh my goodness I just got back on and read your post and was first heartbroken when Wendy flew off, then thrilled when she actually came back. That is so very lucky she came back to you and Ellen is right she sure must love you and her mate to come back home like that. I am now very sorry to read she broke her leg and I hope it heals up good so she can hopefully be good and not do anything else that gives you grief. What a bad friend to let his dog in the house to hurt her like that. My heart is still thumping from reading this post and so happy everything is good now.
Fly Free Boomer, we will forever love you.
She's made a full recovery. One of her rear toes will always point forward but she's able to climb and perch with the rest of them!
Yaaay!! That is awesome!
