Hi! I have two lovebirds and I need help for them to get used to me. They go near me when I'm near the cage and they love to bite my hands but when I try to put my hand in the cage they get scared. Is there some advice to get them used to my my hands in the cage?
Welcome to the forum. It will take lots of time for them to truly get use to you and even longer for them to let you touch them without them either biting you or running away. Treats are usually the best way to get them to come close to you. I would just pick out the safflower seeds out of our lovebirds seed mix and he would eat them from my fingers. He also loved the buckwheat seeds as well. Talk to your birds lots so they get use to your voice and also your movements and give them a safflower seed whenever you walk by so they will learn you are a nice person.
