Final days of incubation - questions

I have been incubating my budgie eggs with a lamp and a bow of water in a cardboard box with a t-shirt over the top, and it was working.
I would flip them twice a day, because Iím a teen with school it was hard for me to flip any earlier than that. Oh and I could see them moving around when candled. My incubator finally came in last night.

I was wondering if itís true, that you should set them and leave them alone for 3 days before hatching. And I want to know if 40 celcius is the right temp. Because I candles the eggs again that are about to hatch and they are moving less and less. Is this normal?

    Thanks

I can only say I am hopeful they will hatch. It is more difficult with artificial means than with Nature. Please update us often.

Good job it least getting one that has movement. I wish you luck in trying to feed a newborn baby.

I came home today and checked the eggs and my heart was racing when I heard the older one chirping from inside! It made my heart melt so unless Iím mistaken, Iím pretty sure itís going to hatch tomorrow.

I would also like to know how feeding schedules should be and when to feed them after the two hatch

    Thanks

You are truly amazing to actually get a baby to form inside a egg you took care of. I think you must be reading lots to do this and hopefully you can find someone to help you with the feedings. Up in Reno, Nevada there is a bird store who raises babies and hand feeds them but I dont think they feed them right when they hatch. It is so amazing to see baby birds fed and thrive because a loving human wants them to grow up liking people. Please keep us updated on your eggs and hopefully soon to be babies.

Yaay!!! That egg should have hatched soon after you heard the chirping. I once bred a pair of budgies, and I will never forget hearing the chirping in the first egg that hatched! It was soooo exciting. My pair had 4 beautiful babies. The minute that first egg hatched, the dad jumped into the box, to help mom feed it. I could hear all four babies in the shell chirping before they hatched.

I would suggest you call an avian vet in your area and ask them how to proceed with this baby. We will welcome updates anytime!
