    Bird losing balance?

I know that birds losing balance is a sign of sickness, but before I jump to conclusions I was wondering if birds can lose balance easily because their nails are long? I've been meaning to take him to the vet to get his nails clipped but maybe I should take him in for a check up too? But he also hasn't been chirping as much and I found a few small feathers on the bottom of his cage....
Hes been eating and his poop seems regular

It could be his nails so I would maybe start with nail trimming and if that dont help I would see a vet

Personally, I have not experienced birds losing balance due to long nails. The feather loss could be a molt. I would consider taking him to an avian vet for a wellness check. Birds cleverly hide their illness, and can be very sick, by the time we get them to the vet. They also would clip his nails. I would recommend to NOT let them talk you into clipping his wings. That can get very dicey if you happen to get a technician that does not know the proper way to clip them. It would take months to get his wing flights to grow back, and it will severely limit his flight and balance for a long time. That will totally hurt his life, including his daily rountine.

Mango my sisters Amazon use to fall off his perches when his nails got too long. He usually did it when he was walking around on the perch but never when he was just sitting there. His nails curve to where if they didn't get trimmed often it was hard for him to actually grip onto his wood perches good enough to hold him up.
