    Salt for Birds

In my country, fanciers, for years, have been keeping rock salt in the cages and aviaries as a salt lick. Now some vets say salt is toxic for birds. I woul like some input from the members on this. Ken Roy

    Re: Salt for Birds

Here in America, I do not think caged birds are provided salt in their cages. Salt and sugar, in my view, should be fed very sparingly, if at all. Other than the content of salt or sugar in limited amounts which may be ingredients in the seed mix, I do not provide either for my birds.
