Awww!!! I love both of them. Misty looks good, even though she has some challenges. And who could not love that precious, beautiful face of Aurora! She has such big eyes. I am happy for you that they are doing well. I wish you a belated Merry Xmas, and all your family and the birds and the cat, a healthy and happy New Year! We will welcome your updates anytime

So, Aurora went to see our vet last week for the first time, and it turns our she is a he lol. My daughter has decided to change his name to borialis, as it's more masculine? Personally i think it should be Boris at this point. both birds have infections though, so giving him his antibiotic is a challenge.

. That's too funny! As we know...can't fool mother nature! Quite honestly, I think it is better to have the male anyway, because then you do not need to deal with eggs. Even single hens can lay them. I do think males can get kind of aggressive when they are into hormones though. Not just lovebirds, most of the parrot species.

I do like the name, Borialis. Boris... OK!!

    Thanks for the update!

I agree boys are so much easier because you do not need to worry about eggs and boy oh boy are lovebirds little hormonal beasts. I have to tell you that your little boy will be doing the rub rub thing everywhere when he feels hormonal. Boomer was the king at rubbing his private parts on everything. But thankfully your little borialis isn't a girl so like Ellen said no troubles with egg binding with a boy.
