    Taming

Hello! I have just got my parakeet 31 days ago from Petco, and am working on taming him but I want some advice.
We put him in the living room because that is we are most of the time, but im worried that its to active for him, and that it scares him.

2: I am working on taming him as I said before, he will eat millet out of my hand, but wont do much more then that, what should my next step me, just continue feeding him?

3: He does't play with any toys, and just sits under his ladder.

    Any advice?

Hi, and welcome. I think you are doing great with him considering you have only had him 31 days. Budgies love to be with people, so I think having him in the living room is great. Eating millet out of your hand already is amazing. Time and patience are on your side. Sit by his cage and read a kids book to him. Play music for him on a CD player or radio. Eat a snack while sitting there. Be sure to buy him a swing and a small mirror. Bugies love to play with their mirror girl friends and to be on their swing. My budgie, Muffin loves his mirror girlfriends and he sleeps on his swing at night. Muffin is 9 years old. He became blind about 2 years ago, but that doesn't stop him. He can navigate his cage, find his seeds and water cups, and play, even with this disability.

Everyday, he will become more trusting of you. We will watch for updates!!
