My budgie’s wing is staying in an upward position

I have two budgies, Lilo and Stitch,Lilo is well trained and fine but stitch is not very well trained. so when we were taking Lilo out of the cage Stitch wanted come out too. When he was out he flew around and fell onto our glass table and seemed to have hurt his wing. His wing has been flapped up and sort of popping up for almost half an hour.

I don’t know what to do please help! Should I take him to the vet? Or see if it heals over time?

Hi, and welcome. I am sorry your precious Stich has hurt his wing. With an injury like that you very well may need a vet. Tonight keep their cage covered and keep them in your bedroom. Have a night light on close by the cage. Keep them warm, since they are in the same cage. I suggest using a piece of flannel or a baby flannel blanket to cover them tonight. Then in the morning if the wing still is not right, call an avian vet and take him in for an examination. It is difficult to put anything on a birds wing. The vet will be able to repair the wing if necessary and tell you what to do to help heal it.

    Please keep us posted.

Thank you so much! We really appreciate it and thank you for taking time out of your day to help us, this information really helped and we definitely will use it! We’ll see later if the wing is down or we will take him to a vet. Again thank you.

    We’ll keep you posted.

How is Stitch? I hope he is OK. I know wild and crazy Tikki bashes his feathers around and sometimes they do not go perfectly straight after hitting them. It really bothers him so he either keeps twitching around or holds up the wing a little bit until he either pulls out the feather or it naturally settles back into place.
Fly Free Boomer, we will forever love you.
