    New Old Member... hi... again

    Hello,

I was a member of Tailfeathers a good decade and a half ago... wow.

At that time I was a University student with a few budgie friends. Now I'm an 800 year old lady (slight exaggeration) with a whole zoo of animal and human babies... and we just recently introduced our lovely grey male budgie named Thunderstorm (Stormy).

It's nice to be back and interested to see that this site still exists. It taught me a ton back in the day.

    Lindsay

    Aw, thank you Maxollie!

I was previously here... 2004/2005... anyone else from that time period?

I had some seriously awesome budgie gals and even got a hand tamed one via this site.

My daughter (5years) and I have been talking about getting a budgie since last lockdown. She's always had an attraction to birds and she is calm and mature. When we went into lockdown again back in April (Canada) I decided now was the perfect time. Our zoo consists of 90 gallons worth of fish tanks, a 25 year old horse, and two very hairy human boys (3 and 41 years). We also have a senior dog and cat (neither of which care much about Stormy, but we still keep them 100% separated if the cage is open).

Stormy is settling in very nicely, but my heart aches knowing how much their personalities bloom when with another budgie friend. Since I have the time now, I think I will get him another male companion in a few months.

Hey there and welcome back.. I too learned a lot here. It's just too bad that this site doesn't get the traffic like it used to. But still, a wealth of information can be found in the archives.

I feel bad that Canada has some very strict lock downs due to the pandemic.. Just as bad as Michigan.. Hopefully they will open the border soon. I do like planning day trips to the Windsor and Sarnia area's..

Can't wait to hear some Stormy stories..
