Scaly Face with Finches

My female zebra finch looks like she has scaly face, with white crustys on her beak. What is the best way of curing this? Is this considered an emergency? She is in an aviary with her mate and a pair of orange cheek waxbills, she also has four eggs in her nest right now. She doesn't seem irritated by it, but it has got me a littled worried, ( first time finch owner and everything ). Would I take her away from her nest and mate to see a vet? Any help would be wonderful, thank you.

yes, you should take her to see a vet. If she has scaley face the vet will give you medicine that you'll have to give to her aswell as the other birds that had contact with her.

here's a site that i found on the internet, it's got some pretty good info and definatly worth a quick read. You should also try typing "scaly face" into google and get as much info as possible about it.

but for sure take her to the vet. it's the best thing to do.

I didn't know finches could get it, but if that's what it is then it can infect your whole flock, yes.

i've seen pictures of finches with it, but that's all i'm going by.
